Hall of Fame

With the adoption of the Charter (see below) by the Delegate Assembly on November 12, 2009, Oakland High and the Wildcats Alumni Association have established an Oakland High School Hall of Fame. As it states in the Charter below, the purpose is to recognize and honor Oakland High alumni, faculty and staff who have successfully united noteworthy accomplishments in school and life, and who have contributed to Oakland High School and the community. Established in 1869, Oakland High is the sixth oldest high school in the state of California. There are many who have contributed significantly after their attendance at Oakland High and who should be recognized. A list of noted alumni is at the Oakland High Wikipedia site.

Nominations may be submitted by any individual on forms available in the Main Office at Oakland High, at the Oakland High website, or on this website. Completed forms must be submitted by February 15 for the nominee to be considered for induction the following fall semester.

The Selection Committee has positions for as many as seven members of the Wildcats Alumni Association. If you are interested in serving on the Selection Committee, please email waa@oaklandhighalumni.org with the subject Hall of Fame Selection Committee. Please provide complete contact information (name, OHS Class Year, street address, phone, and email address).

The first induction ceremony is tentatively scheduled for October or November 2010.
